Since ancient times, the ancestors of today’s Filipinos traveled across vast seas in traditional boats called “balangay” in Tagalog or “Baloto” in Bisaya. The boat has long symbolized collective journeys and community, with people coming together and moving toward a shared destination.

At the 31st ICDE World Conference in 2027, it represents the global community of educators navigating a sea of networked knowledge, guided by the pursuit of sustainable transformation in education. Beside the boat sits a globe of interconnected partners, reflecting “glocal” collaboration to advance education for all.
